This Air Jordan 1 Low OG Celebrates The Year of the Dragon

Every year, some of the sneaker world's biggest names celebrate Chinese New Year with a selection of kicks dedicated to animals from the zodiac. In 2023, brands like adidas and Nike paid homage to the Year of the Rabbit, and it looks like in 2024, Jordan Brand will be nodding to the Year of the Dragon with an upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low OG release.

Made in the exact same dimensions and specifications as the original pairs from 1985, the "Year of the Dragon" is a pretty special drop. Working on top of a crisp white leather base, it's overlaid by light green panels that are decked out in a dragon scale-esque pattern. Fiery red laces tie everything together, and this is complemented by a spicy Swoosh that glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls with a metallic sheen.

The winged basketball emblems are stitched atop shiny gold heel badges, and underfoot, the Air midsole is dipped in a creamy white for an archival aesthetic. All of this comes packed in a special edition shoebox, and is accompanied by a collection of accessories that have been made exclusively for this release.

Not much else is known about the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Year of the Dragon" at the moment, but with the Lunar New Year pencilled in for February 10th next year, we wouldn't be surprised if it dropped around then. Let us know if you'll be adding these to your collection, and while you're here, you might as well get up close with the Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined”!
